We’re pleased to announce that a major new version of SpeedScriber is now available with many new features and improvements.
Transcription and Editing
- Usage is now rounded up to the next second rather than the next minute.
- Profanity filter per imported file plus default option in Settings.
- Speakers can be merged together by clicking the speaker menus in the transcript.
- Speaker ranges can be deleted by clicking the ✕ button in the top right of the range.
- New Jumbo 🐘 text size for transcript display.
Export
- Caption layout algorithm has been rewritten for better results.
- Can now choose up to 1 or 2 lines for captions.
- Can now choose 20/32/36/42 maximum characters per line for captions.
- Can now choose to only export Favorite ranges to FCP (in Settings)

- Direct purchase option is now done via our reseller Paddle with flexibility to purchase 1-99 hours at app.speedscriber.com
- Higher rates of discount on purchases of larger quantities via Paddle.
- Improved reliability of Mac App Store purchases by forcing a refresh of purchase receipt.
Bug Fixes
- Dragging FCP libraries to the Dock now works again.
- Improved reliability of transcript editing.
- Fixed transcript sometimes scrolling to wrong location.
- Fixed blank lines that could occur in PDF exports.
- Editing of words in Favorite ranges now works as expected.
